At the heart of XVAcademy is XVArena - a dedicated indoor football development centre in Ballybane, Galway.

XVArena was created to give players more opportunities to train, develop and enjoy their football in a high-quality environment, whatever the weather. With Galway's unpredictable conditions, having an indoor home means players can train consistently throughout the year without rain, wind or poor conditions getting in the way.

But XVArena is about more than simply having a roof over a football pitch. It was built with player development at its centre.

From an Idea to Reality

Shortly after launching XVAcademy in 2023, we realised that having our own indoor facility was an important part of our vision for the academy.

If we wanted to create a full-time football academy and give players more opportunities to train, we needed an environment that we could control and develop around their needs.

After months of searching, we signed the lease on what would become XVArena in April 2024. Following planning and construction, the facility opened its doors to weekly football sessions in September 2024.

What started as an idea has become the home of XVAcademy's player development programme.

Built for Player Development

XVArena provides a dedicated environment where players can train consistently and make the most of every session.

Our 250m² UEFA-standard astroturf pitch provides a high-quality surface designed for 5-a-side underage training and tournaments. The indoor environment allows our coaches to deliver sessions in a controlled setting throughout the year, while small-group training gives players more opportunities to work with their coaches and get meaningful time on the ball.

Every week, more than 20 hours of small-group sessions take place at XVArena, alongside goalkeeper training, girls-only sessions, development camps and other football activities.

For us, the facility isn't the end goal. It's a tool that allows us to create better opportunities for players to train, learn and develop.

More Than a Training Facility

While player development is at the heart of XVArena, the space is also designed to bring people together through football.

Football Training

Private Hire
