ABOUT XVACADEMY
XVAcademy was created to give players more opportunities to train and develop in a professional, structured environment. We believe that true player development comes from time on the pitch - but factors like weather, limited facilities, and high coach-to-player ratios often make it difficult for young athletes to get the hours they need. XVAcademy bridges that gap by offering additional, high-quality training sessions led by experienced coaches in a controlled and supportive setting.
Our mission is to go beyond traditional training by providing a unique, player-focused experience. From top-tier coaching and individualised attention to advanced equipment and cutting-edge technology, every session is designed to make players feel - and train - like professionals. Constant innovation is at the heart of our method; we're always exploring new techniques and refining our approach to deliver the best possible experience.

THE MANAGEMENT TRIO
Xavi Vázquez is the founder and head coach of XVAcademy. He began coaching in 2005 in Spain and has since worked with players of all ages, from U4s to senior teams.
After moving to Galway City in 2018, Xavi joined the Galway United Academy, thanks to Johnny Glynn. Over the past five years, he has also coached with clubs across County Galway, including Knocknacarra FC, Craughwell United, Galway Bohemians, and Barna Furbo FC.
At Galway United, Xavi managed the U14s, leading them to victory in the 2021 National League and to the 2022 National Cup final. In Spain, he gained valuable experience at high-performance academies, coaching elite youth from clubs such as FC Barcelona, RCD Espanyol, and Girona FC.
Xavi has also led two football camps in Anantapur, India, with the Vicente Ferrer Foundation and his home club CF Santvicentí — experiences he describes as truly unforgettable.
Conor O'Keeffe is a professional footballer and co-owner of XVAcademy, bringing elite-level experience and a genuine passion for developing the next generation of players. Having played at a high level across the League of Ireland, Conor has built a reputation as a hardworking and technically gifted right-back with exceptional leadership qualities. His experience on the pitch translates directly into his coaching - blending tactical awareness, discipline, and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed at the professional level.
As co-owner of XVAcademy, Conor is dedicated to creating an environment where players can thrive both on and off the field. His focus on individual growth, mindset, and professionalism inspires every athlete he works with to reach their full potential. Conor's energy, authenticity, and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable part of our academy and a role model for aspiring footballers everywhere.
Francis Kelly, the 3rd piece of the XVAcademy ownership and the driving force behind its operations, technology, and business development. With a strong background in computing and digital strategy, Francis oversees the academy's marketing, administration, day to day running and overall growth. His innovative approach ensures that XVAcademy remains at the forefront of modern football development - combining professionalism, efficiency, and creativity in every aspect of its operation.
Before joining Xavi at XVAcademy, Francis served as the Commercial Manager of Galway United FC, where he played a key role in strengthening the club's partnerships, brand presence, and community engagement. A lifelong football enthusiast, he brings together his passion for the game and his expertise in business management to help shape the academy's long-term vision. Francis's leadership, strategic insight, and dedication to excellence make him an integral part of XVAcademy's success story.
